Minnesota multi-state permit to carry a pistol
Astrid Defense began offering MN PTC classes in 2017. Since then, more than 1,000 women and men have learned about firearms safety, reciprocity, application processes, and practical issues that should be considered when carrying a handgun in public. This course also covers Minnesota and Federal laws that regulate the use of lethal force and what to do during and after an incident.
This certified course covers a wide range of topics, ensuring you have a solid base of knowledge if you choose to carry a firearm for protection, including:
The concealed carry lifestyle/mindset
Obtaining your permit
Where you are prohibited from carrying
Carrying in other states and reciprocity
Carrying around schools, retail areas, and other public spaces
Transporting your firearm and traffic stops
Firearms Safety - handguns and carry equipment
Training - the fundamentals of gun handling, shooting
Shooting qualification - required by the State of Minnesota for all new and renewing Permit applicants
Participants who plan to apply for Minnesota’s Permit to Carry must be 18 years of age or turning 18 within a year of completing the course and be legally able to own a firearm.
This is not a course to learn to shoot! The qualification target will be set at 21, 28, and 35 feet. All participants must demonstrate safe and proficient shooting skills at all three distances.
Bring comfortable shoes, a pen, a valid Driver’s License, reading glasses, and weather-appropriate apparel. You may shoot your own handgun; bring 25 rounds of new ammunition (no reloads or reman).
