COURSE DESCRIPTION:
You’ve got a carry permit or an interest in the defensive use of a pistol, and you’re ready to train in realistic defensive scenarios.
Participants will work through realistic situations that call for clear thinking, judgment, and effective defensive tactics. This course includes hands-on classroom work, simunitions (non-lethal marking rounds), and live-fire training in a small-group and safe environment.
Students will:
assess risks and safely maneuver in a 360-degree dynamic environment
engage targets from behind cover and concealment
move, shoot, clear malfunctions, and draw from the holster
develop a personal training plan
Discussion of legal, ethical, and physical consequences of lethal force will follow scenario-based training and a detailed performance review. Protective gear, firearms, holsters, and non-lethal ammunition will be provided.
Participants should be 21+ years old, be legally able to own a firearm, and be able to handle and operate a firearm safely.
Required gear:
carry, compact or full-size semiautomatic pistol (no sub-compacts) plus 2 or more magazines
quality IWB/OWB holster (molded plastic/leather is best)
eye/ear pro (electronic is best)
150 rounds of quality target loads (no re-manufactured ammo)
long-sleeve shirt, gloves, woven nylon belt that fits your holster
water, snacks, and notebook for notes/planning
OPTIONAL: elbow and knee pads, individual first aid kit including a tourniquet, gun cleaning kit
Limited to 8 participants. Minimum 4 to make this course run.
Participants will learn to assess risks and react in realistic situations that call for clear thinking and effective defensive tactics. Classroom work on use of cover and other strategies for maneuvering through a high-threat environment will be followed by drills with (non-lethal) marking rounds and live fire. The course will culminate with a skills test on the live-fire range, and all participants will leave with a personal training plan.

quality IWB/OWB holster (molded plastic/leather is best)
eye/ear pro (electronic is best)
150 rounds of commercial target loads (re-manufactured and reloaded ammo is not acceptable)
long-sleeve shirt, gloves, woven nylon belt that fits your holster
water, snacks and notebook for notes/planning
OPTIONAL: elbow and knee pads, individual first aid kit including tourniquet, gun cleaning kit
All equipment and non-lethal Simunitions ammo will be provided.
Participants should be 21+ years old, be legally able to own a firearm, draw from concealment, rapidly change mags, clear malfunctions, and operate a firearm safely.
